Big Week In 2nd Grade Grandparent's Day has arrived! This Friday at 11:30. Grandparents won't want to miss out. It will be a great time and the kids will show off some of their amazing singing. Send in treats if you are able. Finger foods only. A-K Please send in snacks or finger foods. L-Z Please send in finger food desserts. Thanks! Community Service Super Stars Our first show will be at the Paradise Branch of the Butte County Library on 11/14. We will start our trip to the Library with a tour of Library operations. Then we will put on a concert for the preschoolers, read a story or two and lead a craft activity. The emphasis will be on developing a love of reading. Our second show will be to Atria Paradise, which is the nursing home on Bushman Rd. on 11/21. We will entertain the residents with some of our favorite songs and some holiday songs. Our goal for this outing is simply to brighten someone's day. We just had a request to sing at the December meeting of the Paradise Garden Club on Dec. 8. We will be doing all or mostly Christmas Songs. Once again our goal is to make someone's day. We will be able to walk on this trip, weather permitting. They meet at the Recreation Center. Homework Homework seems to have been a success last week, so I'm going to try it again. I've switched up the activities a little. Students should do40 minutes of Moby Max spread throughout the week. Please continue to give me feedback. Do you like it? Does it work with home routines? What can your child do independently? Newsletter on Phones I hope everyone is enjoying the convenience of having the class newsletter on your phone. If you haven't noticed the Calendar in a while, it is still there. Just scroll down to the bottom and find our upcoming class events. If you are using Google Calendars, you can touch the event and add it to your calendar as well.

homework/TechLast week's homework experiment seems to have been well received. I am excited about the quality of online activities that 2nd graders are using. These are not just games. Each student is working specifically on skills that they need to work on, based on a placement test given. This is exciting because everyone is being challenged at their own level, which is a recipe for maximum gains. This week's homework is a packet, due on Friday. It includes spelling homework and two other online activities, Moby Max and Typing Club. When logging into Typing Club, students will need to use their gmail (@acmsrocks.org). They may need to log out another family member. Please watch to see that they are using the correct finger position while typing. Please sign and date each activity and return on Friday. As always, please give me some feedback! Community Service Project The student's are extremely excited to be preparing for our performances. Thanks to Mrs. Taylor, we have added a show on Dec. 8th at the Paradise Garden Club, which meets at the Recreation Center. Please sign attached permission slips and return. I will need drivers for the first two trips Nov. 14 and 21. We can walk on Dec 8th, but I could use a few volunteers to accompany us. Halloween Party and Grandparent's Day1. Please send in $2 for our Halloween Pizza Party. If you haven't sent it, just send it on Friday.
