homework/Tech

Last week's homework experiment seems to have been well received.  I am excited about the quality of online activities that 2nd graders are using.  These are not just games.  Each student is working specifically on skills that they need to work on, based on a placement test given.  This is exciting because everyone is being challenged at their own level, which is a recipe for maximum gains.  This week's homework is a packet, due on Friday.  It includes spelling homework and two other online activities, Moby Max and Typing Club.  When logging into Typing Club, students will need to use their gmail (@acmsrocks.org).  They may need to log out another family member.  Please watch to see that they are using the correct finger position while typing.  Please sign and date each activity and return on Friday.  As always, please give me some feedback!

Community Service Project

The student's are extremely excited to be preparing for our performances.  Thanks to Mrs. Taylor, we have added a show on Dec. 8th at the Paradise Garden Club, which meets at the Recreation Center.  Please sign attached permission slips and return.  I will need drivers for the first two trips Nov. 14 and 21.  We can walk on Dec 8th, but I could use a few volunteers to accompany us.

Halloween Party and Grandparent's Day

1. Please send in $2 for our Halloween Pizza Party.  If you haven't sent it, just send it on Friday.
2. Grandparent's Day is next week.  Please make sure all Grandparents received their invitations.
