Field Trip!!! Wednesday!!!

Thanks to all of the parents who signed up.  We need one more driver if possible.  If you can drive, let me know.  If you are driving please arrive at 9:30 to recieve your driving arrangments and get your group for the day.  Please come into the class to hear any announcements I have for the students.  Students will need a sack lunch.  Please wear uniforms.

Grandparent Essays

The students have done a great job writing about their grandparents.  They should provide some pretty entertaining reading materials.  Reports have been written and we will start typing tomorrow.  Not to shabby for 6 weeks into second grade!

Grandparent's Day

Students should have come home with invitation today.  Please help them deliver the invitations to their grandparents.  I have more blank invites if students need another for additional grandparents.

Science Skills

We are going to have a mini unit about science lab skills during the last two weeks of the grandparents unit.  Today we began learning about how to use microscopes and why you would need to use one.  We will be practicing measure liquids and measuring mass with a balance.  We will also practice our observational skills in the lab.  

Subtraction Strategies

Our new math unit is all about using addition facts the students already memorized to begin memorizing subtraction facts.  For example 0 less, 1 less, 2 less, doubles facts, etc.
