Community Service Project
I am excited to be trying something new this year for our community service project. In an effort to capitalize on this class' musical strengths, we are going to put on a series of concerts. We will be taking trips to the Paradise Library, Atria Nursing Home and possibly other places where we can brighten peoples day through music.
I am amazed with the number sense and problem solving ability of the class lately. It is great to see what students with a strong math foundation can reason out for themselves. Shout out to Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Dressler for giving these students the gift of understanding numbers.
Grandparents DAy - Nov. 7th
Please make sure that the invitations that went home last week make it to the grandparents. They won't want to miss out. This class can put on quite a show. We will sing and dance and spoil our grandparents. If you need additional invitations, please let me know. Or, just tell them the time and date.
upcoming Parties/ Events
1. Please send in $2 for the Halloween Party Pizzas and Drinks.
2. For Grandparents Day on Nov. 7th we would like to have some finger foods and snacks for the 2nd graders to serve to their grandparents. If your last name begins with A-K please send Finger Foods. If your last name begins with L-Z please send Dessert. Thanks.
Spelling City has a great app! Check it out. This can replace one spelling activity per week and is also great for additional spelling practice.
Lexia/Core5 some students are working with this valuable tool in class. If your child is working on this at school, they could benefit greatly from additional practice at home. The APP is great, it works on the web too, just not as well.
