Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! One of the things I am most grateful for is the privilege to teach and work with such amazing students and families. We have a busy fun week here in Second Grade before our week off to celebrate with friends and family. Special Thanksgiving Homework The only homework this week is for the students to write, edit and publish a Thanksgiving story. You will find more information in their homework binders. Please do not feel the need to make it super long. Just work a little each night, maybe 15-20 minutes. If the story is too long, it will take a long time to write or type a final draft. There are some story starter ideas on the homework page, but feel free to be as creative as you want. Students will need some help editing. If they choose to type, see how much they can correct on their own. Good luck, keep it short and have fun with it. This is not meant to be a project of epic proportions. Field Trip Info Thanks to all of the drivers who came on Friday. We had a great time. The second graders put on a great show for the younger kids. It was great to see them interacting and gently prompting the young children to participate with us. This week we will be going to Atria. This is the nursing home on Bushman. It should be another great opportunity to bless others and make their day better. We will be singing some of our favorite songs and some Christmas songs as well. If you are driving, please be here by 10:00. Thanksgiving Party Since we are on Field Trip part of the day on Friday, we will celebrate with a Thanksgiving Pancake Breakfast first thing Friday morning. I think we have everything we need. You can contact Jennette Klein if you have any questions.
