This week in 2nd Grade...

Science:  We will continue the study of Earth Science but will shift our focus on how the Earth is changing quickly and slowly (erosion and weathering).  This will be another week of hands on activities where students will make a claim and back it up with evidence.

Math:  We will be wrapping up addition and subtraction of money.

Reading/Writing:  We will start our third and final round of reading groups.

Star Homework

Oh my goodness!  Your kids are working hard at home earning those stars!  Even with a short week last week, they were able to meet their goal and then some!  Here's what to expect this week...

Spelling/Vocabulary:  The students are responding so well to the vocabulary words.  It has been really helpful for them to know how to spell the words as we learn about science.  There are only 5 words this week:  weathering, erosion, earthquake, volcano and glacier.

Reading:  1 star for every 10 minutes of reading

Math:  ST Math- try to get to 60%, 80% or even 100%!  Other activities can include counting change or make up some double digit addition or subtraction with regrouping.
