Announcement for Monday...

Brayden Bess will be our teacher of the day on Monday.  He has declared it "Fancy Dress" day (but free dress will work just fine!).  We will be having Root Beer Floats at the end of the day to observe the different properties of matter.

Fighting Germs!

We are down to our last few tubs of sanitizing wipes!  We do our best to keep our room as clean as possible.  We really could use a few more tubs to get us through the rest of the school year.  If you think about it, could you send some in?!?  Thanks!

This week in 2nd Grade...

We have a lot of new things going on this week...including a new seating arrangement!

Science:  We will start our unit on Properties of Matter this week.  We will be learning new vocabulary words and identifying objects that are solid, liquid or gas...or both!?!?

Math:  This week we will dive into Geometry!  We will start with learning about solid figures (3D) and plane shapes.

Reading/Writing:  Another new thing in second grade...Reading Groups!  We are switching things up during our morning routine with leveled reading groups.  The groups will be switching off with reading and comprehension questions/activities.

STAR HOmework

Wow!  These kiddos are racking up the star points each week!  The STAR Homework will be the same as last week.  There will be spelling, math, writing and reading.  They will earn a star for every 10 minutes they read.  Also, I'm going to start sending home unfinished math work from class.  The math work can count for a math star when it is complete.
