Thank you for coming out to our Open House last week!  Your support means so much to your student and me!  I will try to send links to the biography videos this week.  Again, thank you!

This Week in 2nd Grade

Math-  We will be finishing up our chapter on word problems.  There will be a test later this week.
Science-  Winter Olympic STEM challenges during this month!  
Reading/Writing-  We will be reading and learning about the Winter Olympic events during our reading groups this month.  We will focus on a variety of comprehension strategies and reading fluency.
Social Studies-  We will continue to talk about different virtures that people use to become GREAT!  I will return the student's reports to you at their PLP this week.  
Spelling-  The students will have a new spelling list in their folders today.  Test will be on Friday.  

STAR Homework

Our homework menu will look the same as weeks past.  This week you will find a pink sheet to record your student's reading.  This is for Read Across America week.  Reading minutes can be counted as STARS as well!  Reading is going to be the best use of your child's time!  Remember to mix things up and be creative.  Play a game or have your child make up a word problem for you to solve.
