Moving "Wright" along...We have just a couple more weeks left in the first trimester. This is a fun-loving, hard-wroking group of kids! We have settled into a good routine and are working at a good pace. Although there isn't much different about this week, here are a few things to expect...
STAR Homework will continue to be the same with a variety of addition and subtraction worksheets. We will begin working on repeated addtion and arrays this week in math. We have been talking about animal habitats and adaptations and will reseach the wetlands together in class this week. In the following weeks the students will be paired up and will be asked to design an animal habitat for our classroom zoo. The research and project will all be done in class. We are still working out the details for a possible field trip. We'll let you know as soon as we know if it works out. We hope you have a great week!

Grandparent's DayWhat a great day we had last Friday! Your kids are pretty fortunate to have such wonderful grandparents. Thank you to everyone who brought snacks and drinks and special shout out to the parents who set up and cleaned up. It was so fun to see it all come together. The students did a great job sharing their reports and singing the songs they've been practicing for weeks. It really was a great day! EcoSystemsOur next unit will be the study of ecosystems. We have some really fun things planned for this unit and will start to talk about animals and their habitats this week. Star Homework & Spelling TestsOur homework activities will be the same as last week. I have included some new practice math worksheets and another game. Again, if you choose, flashcards would be a great math activity for homework. There should be a spelling list in the Monday/Homework folder. This spelling list is what they should be practicing this week at home (optional) and in class. They will get a new spelling list if they passed their spelling test with at least 80%. If not, we'll give another week to work on the previous list. Friday's spelling tests are in the Monday/Homework folder for you to look over. MathWe are finishing up our chapter on subtraction strategies this week. We will have the test on Wednesday or Thursday. Our next unit is working on equal groups.
